Lake Hartwell Produces New South Carolina
State Record Striped Bass!
Caught in Lake Hartwell near Hartwell Dam on February 3rd, 2002 by Terry McConnell of Eastoneolle, Georgia.
59 1/2 pounds, 47 3/4 inches TL, 32 1/8 girth
Record verified on state certified scales at Garrett's.
Terry McConnell, a Georgia native, is waiting for official confirmation that the striper he caught April 3 in Lake Russell will set records for both South Carolina and Georgia. The fish has already been weighed on a certified scale at 63 pounds 4 ounces. Once certified by South Carolina and Georgia Department of Natural Resources biologists as a striped bass, the record will be official.
